Volunteer Opportunities

You're busy. We get it! That's why we don't expect any volunteer to do more than they can fit into their lives. Do as much or as little as you wish. All assistance is extremely appreciated! If you have ever wanted to be more connected with your child, your community, or just want to make more friends and have more fun... there are opportunities for you here at Sequoit Pride.

Below is a list of some of the ways you could help. Perhaps the best thing you can do is: contribute your skill and talent. Whatever you know, we probably need it! Tell us what you have experience with, and we will find a way to apply it.

SPECIAL EVENTS

We need short-term help on an unpredictable, irregular basis. To see our current needs, click here to see easy ways to help.

STAFF THE SCHOOL STORE

Our school store is open every day during the lunch hour throughout the school year. It is also open during some special events. But it's only open if a parent volunteers to staff the store! Click here to see the open time slots. This is a very easy job, often peaceful, and we provide training. LEARN MORE

PHOTOGRAPHER

We need a talented photographer to capture memories of our fundraisers and spirit events. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

VIDEOGRAPHER

It would be great to have quality, edited videos of our events to help us communicate with future recruitment of sponsors, donors, and attendees. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

PATHWAY OF EXCELLENCE COORDINATOR

The Pathway of Excellence is a brick fundraising program. The Pathway is located at the flagpoles in front of the Main Street entrance to ACHS. The coordinator will accept brick orders January-April, confirm inscriptions with customers in May, place the brick order in late May, and ensure bricks are installed in July or August. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

KICK OFF NIGHT COORDINATOR

Kick Off Night is one of the first events of the new school year and is coordinated by the ACHS athletic department. Our Kick Off Night coordinator will work in conjunction with the athletic department to coordinate an outdoor club & activities fair to be held along the path that connects the stadium to the parking lot. The fair is held while various athletic scrimmages take place at the stadium. The Kick Off Night coordinator will also work in conjunction with our Membership coordinator, Yard Sign coordinator, and Spirit Store coordinator to ensure that their program are included in Kick Off Night. Because this event "kicks off" the school year, the bulk of the planning for this event will occur during the mid to late summer. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

STAFF APPRECIATION BREAKFAST

On behalf of all parents and guardians, Sequoit Pride provides a Staff Appreciation Breakfast during Education Week in May. This coordinator will define the theme, discuss food needs with our hospitality coordinator, request donations from the ACHS parent community via schoolwide email, and work on theme-specific decorations. On the day of the event, the coordinator assigns tasks to volunteers and feeds approximately 100-150 staff members. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

SENIOR PICNIC

Sequoit Pride produces a senior picnic in May at the ACHS STadium. This coordinator discusses food needs with our hospitality coordinator, requests food & drink donations from the ACHS parent community via schoolwide email, and on the day of the event, assigns tasks to volunteers and feeds approximately 300 senior Sequoits. Can you help? If so, please introduce yourself to us via email: sequoit.boosters@chsd117.org

THE MAIN EVENT: VARIOUS POSTIONS

We will need dozens of parents to help with our biggest fundraiser of the year. Details to come, but for now it is safe to assume we will need help recruiting donations, storing auction items, preparing auction items, promoting the event, decorating the hall, transporting auction items to the hall, setting up auction displays at the hall, greeting guests, selling tickets at the door, and clean up. SOMETHING ELSE...

If you have an idea for a way Sequoit Pride can help make ACHS even better, please introduce yourself to us! We are a bunch of parents who sometimes make it up as we go. All of the things we do started as a parent's idea. WE WELCOME IDEAS, so please let us know what your skills are, what ideas you have, etc.
DID YOU KNOW... Raymond Auto Group supports Sequoit Pride in a huge way? Raymond Chevrolet and Raymond Kia pledged $50,000 over a ten year period. Their first payment allowed Sequoit Pride to paint "home of the Sequoits" on the Route 173 water tower and fund academic, athletic, artistic, and activity opportunities for ACHS students. Thank you, Raymond Auto Group!
